Throughout this site there are many documents and references to compatibility between species.  It’s understandingly difficult to gain a perspective on this information when it is spread out among pages of text.  So, we assembled a suite of charts to represent the textual information pertaining to compatibility.

Generally, the charts are specific to freshwater and saltwater fish.  The same set of fish are used in all freshwater charts and the same is true for the saltwater charts.  The style of chart is called a “heatmap” and examines the intersection of two species as pertaining to a particular topic area.  Topics areas addressed in the charts include things such as diet, illumination, water pH, etc.

The intersecting point will represent how the two species relate to one another on that topic.  Sounds confusing, but once a chart is examined it will become much clearer.

Take your time, with a cup of your favorite beverage, and look through the chart materials. They convey a surprising amount of information!
